Are you ready to πŸš€ boost your progress and learn Malay faster than ever? Here is a comprehensive guide on how to use our flashcards.

When you first see the flashcards πŸ—ƒοΈ, they are displayed like so:

This particular bundle has three themes. Each theme will have:

  1. a vocabulary set
  2. an example sentence set
  3. an advanced questions set

At the top of every set, you can see four modes:


Flashcards mode

In the Flashcards mode, you can read and study the words and definitions. Click the card to β†ͺ️flip↩️ between the vocabulary and the definition.

You can also click the play icon ▢️ to let the flashcards flip and advance automatically. This is perfect for multitasking. The best way to use this mode is to download the Quizlet app on the App Store or Google Play Store. And then set the device down beside you while you do the dishes🍽️, exercise 🚴🏾or eat🍜.

Click the Options button to customise the mode. You can:

  1. sort the cards to focus on important vocabulary,
  2. study only starred/favourited words,
  3. change which side of the card is the prompt and the answer,
  4. switch on/off the audio.

Learn mode

In the Learn mode, you can be more active in the learning process by answering questions.

You can customise your learning experience by clicking Options.


Test mode

In the Test mode, you can challenge your knowledge by:

  1. choosing answers from multiple options,
  2. answering true or false questions,
  3. matching terms with the definitions,
  4. typing in answers.

The test can be printed onto paper or saved as a PDF.

Submit your test and see the results. Follow the suggested steps and try reviewing questions that you missed.


Match mode

In the Match mode, you can play a game of matching the vocabulary and definitions against a timer⏳.

Quizlet is a spaced repetition tool that is best used consistently. It is recommended for you to try study using Quizlet 20-30 minutes per session with rests in between.

Try memorising 150 sentences from the example sentence flashcards (set 1.2, set 2.2, and set 3.2) in 28 days. It is doable when:

  • you surround yourself with Malay content (YouTube, TV, music) and other Malay speakers,
  • you listen and say out loud everything you hear from the flashcards,
  • and use every mode available in Quizlet.
